Amanda Lee’s Story
For decades, while my career as a litigator flourished, I lived a double life. To the outside world, I had what looked like the picture-perfect home— a loving husband, children, and everything that seemed ideal.
But behind closed doors, I was consumed by anxiety and fear, trapped in an abusive marriage. On the outside, I was seen as intelligent, confident, independent, and successful— admired by colleagues, superiors, clients, and friends and family.
I was also known for my unwavering commitment to advocating for women through personal and professional service. But this public persona came at a cost.
From Survivor to Coach
I was weighed down by shame and carried the constant fear that if anyone knew the truth, my competence would be questioned, and everything I had worked so hard for—my career, my reputation, my success—would be at risk. These feelings kept me in the marriage for far longer than was healthy or safe.

Eventually, after years of struggle, I made the decision to leave. In the aftermath, I envisioned a world where other professionals wouldn’t have to carry the shame of being in an abusive situation. A world where they could access the support they truly needed, with the understanding and respect for their unique status and lifestyle.

That is why I created TLC— to provide that unwavering support, to empower others to break free without fear of judgment or loss, and to reshape the perception of domestic abuse, particularly among professionals, leaders, and executives.
